As a media buyer that specializes in print I am frequently disgusted with some U.S. newspapers ability to compete. They finally have embraced the web and are utilizing combo buys for print classified ads. Unfortunately, in many markets these are forced buys that include Monster.com or similar job sites. When we have clients that have their own contract with Monster, but also want to pick up additional coverage with a simple classified line ad in print, they are often forced to buy an additional posting on Monster. Few papers let you opt out of the online ad for a reduced print only rate. In the end, many advertisers pass on running in the local paper and opt for smaller community papers or sometimes free community papers.

It is incredibly frustrating for me as a media buyer that started out in the newspaper industry. I hate to see the industry struggle, but I feel like they do not fully understand how they are sometimes putting the nail in their own coffins!

Kevin,

Just checked & worked with my last update for me. Check it was a public post & give it an hour to feed through. Also load the feed URL in a browser to ensure your posts are in there.
Thanks

Love the idea of using Pinterest for social bookmarking. We're a recruitment agency, so we're using our Pinterest profile to share information that can be useful to both job seekers and business clients: infographics related to job search, business books to read, management and HR tips, creative infographic-style CVs, work-related cartoons because sometimes work can be funny, inspirational quotes to bring some light to a job seeker who may be feeling down, ideas on what to wear to job interviews, fun looking places to work, etc. Having lots of fun with it, and still trying to provide valuable tips.

Thanks for your post. Will definitely start thinking of it in bookmarking terms.
